The Fake-It Frugal House Tour, Summer 2012

I'm back and delighted to welcome you to my new home!  This will be a new series of tours so you can see how my home changes through the holidays and the seasons, as well as the Fake-It Frugal additions I make through the years to come.

Welcome to Summertime at the Beach House!

C'mon into The Foyer!

Here, you'll see a few of my previous projects such as the Rag Rose Lamp, the Mirror Transformation, and the Salty Dog Sign.

I love this old gate!  I got it years ago at a yard sale for $5.00 and it's been a prominent part of my decor ever since!

Formal Living Room

This room is going to make a dramatic change in the coming months!
Can't wait to share it with you!

The Family Room

The space may change, but our Family Values do not!

The French Country Coffee Table I refinished using shoe polish.

The French Country Side Table I also refinished using shoe polish.

On this shelf, you may recognize the Fake Nautical Buoy, the Mermaid's Lantern, and the Messages in a Bottle!

The Dining Room

Underneath the buoys is the French Country Furniture Side Board.

Here, I'm displaying my collection of Fake Primitive Pottery!

The Kitchen

This is my Mini-General Store - a place for candles, snacks & other often-used necessities of the kitchen.
Much prettier than a junk drawer!

I even opted for "Fake Granite" on my counter tops instead of the real thing.
Much easier to maintain and a whole lot less expensive!

The Morning Room

I'm using an old ladder as my window valance.
I've added a few lights, rags & a garland to give it some glam!

Even my parakeets got a new home!  Got this cage for a steal (only $25) on eBay!

Remember this project?  Fake Pottery Barn Place Mats.

On the director's chair is one of my Fake Pottery Barn Nautical Pillows!

The Guest Bedroom

Hey look!  There's the Homespun Floor Lamp!

The Master Bedroom/Bathroom

The Heather Inn Quilt Rack.

It's been really fun collecting Beachy things here and there to display!

Fancy as this shower may be, it still houses my cheapo, fixed-up Shower Caddy!

My Son's Room

He is into Space right now!

I wanted something "Spacey" for his window treatments, so I used Dryer Vent Pipe as Valances!

I had a little extra vent pipe, so I added it to the wall to make it look like the interior of a space ship.

There's more to come for his room...stay tuned!

Hubby's Home Office

We finally have space to display my husband's collection from his travels detailed in the Treasure Map above. Just wait till I show you what kind of desk I've made for him!

My Craft Room - Sneak Peek
(Currently Under Construction)

Holy Cow!  I can't wait to show you what I'm up to for my craft room!
This will be a post all on it's own - Coming Soon!!!

The Pantry

My General Store Pantry is working it's way back to being Well-Stocked.

There are a few more rooms and spaces that I will be adding to the Fake-It Frugal House Tour as we go along, but for now...

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you'll stop by again soon!

    1. It's actually just laminate countertops that have the look of granite - you'd be amazed at how many different colors and styles there are & MUCH cheaper than the real thing!
