The door makes for a sturdy, large desk, and for only $26.00 you just can't beat it!
The chrome wire shelves are great for storing books - I picked those up on sale for only $15 each!
It's Faux Leather Contact Paper that really pulls this project together. It was very easy to stick it to the door. I used a wallpaper squeegee to work out any little bubbles and then just folded the edges like a present. Plus, I only needed one roll to do the entire door!
I simply laid the table on top of the shelves. It's not attached in any way, making it easy to slide a bit to put computer cords behind.
I surprised mu husband with this spiffy new desk when he returned from a business trip and he was thrilled!
The Fake-It Yourself Breakdown:

ReplyDeleteMy kind of project. You did good!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a great project. I will definitely do this so we can have more desk space. I might use file cabinets underneath. Not sure if they'll be tall enough though.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this project!
