It's delicious! It's like a Huge Popover Pancake with powered sugar. Oh, yum! So, I set out to make it myself and you can too!
Ingredients:
3 Eggs
3/4 Cup Milk
3/4 Cup Flour
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/4 Cup Butter (half a stick)
Confectioner's Sugar
First, preheat your oven at 450 degrees. Put your half stick of butter in the middle of a glass pie dish and put it in the oven as it preheats (please ignore the mess of my oven!).
Next, beat together the Eggs, Milk, Salt & Flour, leaving the batter lumpy - do not over-mix. When the butter has melted in the oven, pour the batter into the pie plate and bake for about 15 minutes until the pancake is golden brown and puffed up.

Pretty cool, huh? Now you can serve it up with some Confectioner's Sugar and a little squeeze of lemon if you like, but BE FAST, it deflates quickly!
I've never had one of those before. It looks and sounds delicious. I will have to give it a try.

ReplyDeleteIt's Yorkshire Pudding! We traditionally serve this with roast beef and smothered with gravy, or bake it with sausages tucked inside (Toad-in-the-Hole).
