Decorating SOS

Here's an idea I came up with when I was looking for something a little extra on my Summertime Mantel to put with my my Fake Pottery Barn Mercury Lanterns.

Come closer!

They're Messages in Bottles!

But...they're not just any old messages.  Can you identify these quotations?

I mean, if you're going to have a message in a bottle, shouldn't it come from an "Island" of some kind?

Leave me a Comment - I'd love to hear what kind of message you'd put in a bottle!

The Fake-It Yourself Breakdown:

Message In A Bottle (Bottles from trash $0, Scrap Paper $0)

Total Fake-It Yourself Cost:  $0.00 - Gotta Love That!

  7. Oh this is SO cute! I can imagine people standing there struggling to figure out what it says -- haha! I'd put something like, "If you're standing here trying really hard to figure out what this paper says, you're standing close enough to see that I have not dusted this shelf in months. Welcome to my home."

  11. I used a wine bottle and added some sand from the beach we visited and a few small shells. Added my note rolled up. and used the cork from the wine to seal. Love it.
