Chesapeake Bay Seafood Dip For A Crowd

So I was headed to a Birthday Party this past weekend and the theme was "Heavy Appetizers!"  Holy Smokes!  What could be better than that???

I decided to bring along my Chesapeake Bay Seafood Dip, a recipe that I came up with while living abroad and was missing the taste of Old Bay seasoned Maryland Crab!  Oh, it's so good!

Ingredients:
1 Block Cream Cheese
2 Tablespoons Milk
1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese
1/2 Cup Mayonnaise
1 Cup Grated Pepper Jack or Cheddar Cheese
1 Tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning*
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
2 Cans Crab Meat (I used the less expensive Pink Crab), drained
2 Cans Petite Shrimp, drained
1 Can Diced Clams, drained

Add the ingredients to a saucepan and melt together on medium heat.  When the mixture is melted, pour into a greased pie plate and top with some Seasoned Bread Crumbs and another sprinkle of Old Bay Seasoning.  Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25 minutes until it is nice and bubbly!

Serve with your preference of bread or crackers for dipping.  I served mine with day-old bagels, sliced and toasted with a drizzle of olive oil and some kosher salt.

This probably isn't the cheapest dip in the world to make, but considering that it will feed about 20 people at a Pot Luck, it's not too bad at $0.60 per person.  Plus, it was a big hit at the party!

Fake-It Yourself Breakdown:

Chesapeake Bay Seafood Dip (Crab $2.50 each, Shrimp $1.99, Clams $2.35, Cream Cheese $0.79, Pantry $2.00)  Yields Approx 4 Cups (32 oz) of Seafood Dip.

Compare to Philips Crab Dip ($4.99/ 11 oz tub)

*If you don't have Old Bay Seasoning in your area, this DIY Old Bay Recipe will work for you!

Total Fake-It Savings: $2.84
